these reviews are so funny.
bro is going with the companion and complains that less people want to take 2 passengers. spot is good. you can also stand a bit earlier, there are 2 huge lanes. or ask around. everything works.
i had sign "vienna/bratislava"
it was tough and hot. sign. running around and asking is probably pointless because exit combines both mcdonalds and gas station cars.
eventually was taken by a lorry driver to random hungarian village. aim for autobahn tho.
update on this place. this time i went from the city, other reviews are obscure on how to reach it.
go to the the underground passage of the highway to the right from "Sady Starý Lískovec".
go up a steep slope to the guardrail and just reach the gas station.
i love this spot!
brilliant. just stood with a sign near entrance. a lot of german/czech/slovak cars.
you can also cross the highway via the bridge and go the other way.
a few cars. you must have insane luck to pull a brno ride here. I asked around the gas pumps and got a ride to small slovak town Sekule, from which walked 10 min to the highway gas station and it was ezzz from there.
cars go fast, uncomfortable to stop and everyone who turns right to the mall is mostly locals. if you signal with a sign you also irritate the turning drivers. few CZ cars and they are all on the opposite lane.
leaving Bratislava sucks.
ask around the gas station to bring you to the highway or any city in the north from which you can walk to highway petrol station.
the further you go north from the town, the better the spot for the drivers is and you also collect cars that go from the sides. my opinion: don't wait here, start going north and put thumb up at each turn.
perfect if you need to be dropped off at the highway when driver goes to a small city. I stood with a sign "krakow" near the exit (this way all cars encounter you), got a lift on a cool tesla in 5 minutes
I guess I am also unlucky, because I waited A LOT with "krakow" sign in the cold. This spot is good and you could get here with bus "707", which costs 3.4zloty.
don't understand guys who advise to ask around. all cars leave through one corridor, just stand there with a sign (I found clean cardboard behind the store) and you will succeed. preserve energy.
was offered Bialystok, second guy was going to Elk. if you need further - ask for a good gas station on the E67. Only spot to leave this place, so 5 stars.
i don't like it. gravel road on the edge forms a steep angle and cars can't drive deep enough and hesitate.
go closer to the bus stop/gas station turn.
revisited this spot in the early morning(8 a.m.).
SIGN IS REQUIRED!
lots and lots of cars, which is a bit bad, because they can't change lanes, and when coming out of a dark tunnel they barely see you and struggle to make a decision.
still got a ride and it's worth it because it's a city centre.
brilliant spot. traffic lights before are inconvenient for drivers. was planning to go to kaunas or poland, but was instantly offerred a right to vilnius.
didn't get a ride. monday, around 1pm.
why? because road has two lanes, and the lane at which you stop cars, the right one, leads to a turn, when in reality you want to go straight(parnu, riga, etc).
so I highly!!! recommend to move further sound, cross the roundabout and stand there. maybe I was extremely unlucky here, but logic tells me it was not my fault.
a little bit of traffic, but they definitely go to M11, and chances are that 50% go to Moscow and 50% to St.Petersburg. So if you are stuck in Solnechnogorsk and need to escape it, take the 21/34/27 bus till the graveyard and then just go to the tollgates. ask for gas station along m11 if they dont want to take you far away.
just go along the road and ask around where most of the people are.
i decided to do something stupid and went to Vienna by foot, which took me 14 hours, but at this place you get a ride just by existing. cross the border.
I actually had little hope for this place, because the fuel station looks very old and gets little traffic, but if you stay BEFORE it and hold the sign/thumb as much visible as possible, your ride will stop and get you to Austria.
Would recommend, but it is firther than a shopping mall 3.6km before (to the north)
Traffic here is pure dogshit. If you are brought here and willing to go to South (Austria) ask to drop you further at "obchodni centrum futurum" (7 km along E50 and to the right).
I've never went over 60 minutes in my career, but this place is smth.
I wasted a lot of time looking for a direct ride to austria, so stay with BRNO and there change to an international traffic.
to get everyone(gas station, mcdonalds drive through and dine in), stay at the Exit to highway.
good luck.
free toilet.
i was actually taken by austrian police and brought to cz border. lovely ladies.
usual traffic: meh, I wouldn't really hope for this place, but it is what it is.
only a few PL/H/CZ cars passed and everyone ignored me. this roundabout is not a truly convenient place for drivers to stop, I would personally stay at the separate lane a bit earlier.
in theory this is the best you got in order to escape the north of Vienna (hell)
workday morning was very tough, but I persevered and reached Prague in 6 hours even with horrible luck.
please ask to take you to gas stations, direct rides to brno or prague are very unlikely.
just go down the road for 5 more minutes. there's more space to stop, more traffic and more visibiluty. at this point most cars are still grumpy austrian grannies who are driving to the shopping mall.
very convenient spot to get to Klaipeda/Latvia.
to conveniently get to the place take bus 32 until "9-ojo forto muziejus" bus stop from the city centre. costs 1 Euro but you can not pay if you're greedy, no one checks anyway.
