Hitchhiker

Was offered a ride by the first car, going the wrong way. Silence for ages, so i reset my goals for something closer and thankfully someone going the right direction stopped for me. Good service station to stop at in totnes cross

Asked the first guy, got a ride to exeter services. He offered to take me a bit further too. Classic and kinda down to earth car, helped a bit probably. 4 stars coz it could be a fluke

Summer solstice. Trying to go west (all the way to london and scotland apparently easier). Lots of hippies etc, easy to get a ride in general, but from what i heard, the tradition of celebrating the solstice at stonehenge and then going to glastonbury is now over (as told to me by a 50-yo taxi driver), so will be more difficult than in the past to go west

Did not get a ride. In theory there's a spot to stop but you need a sign to even get them to pay attention. It's almost highway speeds, although there is a traffic light so might work. Was trying to head to amesbury but no one showed interest regardless

Thumbed a car down that was leaving the service station. People heading all directions from here
