Not ideal... the spot is a bit hidden for cars coming fast out of the roundabout, but there is a little space for cars to pull into... but if a driver wants to stop, they will stop on the road too!

Thin hard shoulder and thin gravel shoulder with big drop between the two so not ideal for traffic to pull completely off the road to stop. That said, it's a good place to hitch both north and south so good to have a sign. I turned down one lift to Olbia as I was heading south but the next car to stop took me to Posada. 30 minutes waiting time.

Not a lot of space to pull off and stop, but otherwise, it's a good place to get a ride south. I turned down one lift going to Porto Cervo, and it was a good decision as the next person to stop was going to Olbia

Plenty of traffic although lots of drivers indicating that they weren't going far... but it should be easy enough to get to Palau.

there is a small lay-by for vehicles to pull into just before the petrol station on the other side of the road... but they are driving fast on the main road The traffic coming from the beach will be the best chance when they turn onto the main road.

Nice big lay-by for vehicles to pull into... but I knocked one point off because by the time they see you, they have already been accelerating fast away from the roundabout and not inclined to put the brakes on. You can try just past the roundabout where they are moving relatively slower... however, there is no place to pull over there.

Not a very good place to stand, right on the roundabout with no place for vehicles to pull over... but at least they can see you and aren't going that fast. I got lucky and only had to wait 30 minutes for a short lift to a much better spot to hitch from.

The only place with some shade along this stretch of road out of Castelsardo. I turned down one lift to Badesi thinking I could do better but when I had to wait another couple of hours for another lift to Badesi, I took it.

Not really a good place but definitely do-able. I waited 30 minutes before getting a ride out to near the T.C.H.

A lot of traffic heading out of Budapest to Szolnok and further to Romania. It is definitely possible to get a lift all the way to Romania from here. There is just enough place cars to pull over safely. Only use the petrol station at the roundabout as a last resort - not too much traffic going there.

Definitely a good idea to have a sign here. Traffic using this slip-road are not going back to Brno (they use the other slip-road), but most are from the local area south of Brno. However, it is definitely possible to get a long lift to at least Bratislava... and there is enough place for cars to pull over safely.

Big service station on A1 motorway. It's possible to get a ride to all the main cities in Switzerland from here.

A good place to hitch north along the A1, direction Lausanne. Cars are not going too fast, there is a hard shoulder to pull over onto.

It was easy to look for Swiss-registered cars in the parking area and just ask the drivers if they were heading in that direction.

Easy to get to, take tram T2 from Perrache to the final stop at Saint-Priest - Bel Air. Then it's a 30minute walk to the service station.

I stood at the roundabout and not at the tollbooth; got a lift to lyon whilst still writing my sign!

Got the tram (4 to Sportweg); crossed the tram tracks and walked back about 30m in the direction the tram came to the lay-by. I was 10 seconds into writing my sign for Bern when Max stopped for me. Great place!

Small service station but I didn't have to wait long.

If you walk on 20m around the corner, you can stand at the beginning of the slip road where there is a wide hard shoulder where cars can stop safely. Another advantage is that you also get the traffic turning onto the slip road from the other direction of route de crissier. I waited 20mins and got a lift to the first service station at bavois. The only fly in the ointment is that by walking that extra 20m, you will be technically hitching illegally as it is past the motorway sign which stands 'just under the bridge'.
