Hitchhiker

Trying to get to Aire de Vémars, found a car driving to Cologne on a early Saturday morning. Accessible from metro station Montreuil Hôpital, walk to Rue de la Chasse the closest you can get to the gas station entrance. There's a pretty low wall you can climb over and maybe even a pathway, but I didn't see it in the dark. Be extra careful when walking the last 100 meters over the gas station entrance.

Quite a lot of German cars, few French as well

500 meters from metro terminus Roi Baudouin on Line 6. Directions Ghent, Mons, France, Charleroi... Cars drive slowly and can easily pullover. Sign saying gas station symbol ⛽. First car stopped in less than a minute, but was driving towards Ghent. Second car to Mons.

I asked around to get towards Brussels, but since I was going to Paris, I searched for a ride to the ring of Brussels, to a suitable motorway entrance. Most people went to Leuven or the next exit.

I drove away from the Ikea and saw at the traffic lights a guy waiting to cross the road with a sign Hannover in his hands. I honked, pulled over and brought him close to Maastricht while I was on my way to Belgium.

Sign Eggenfelden. Roadworks. Walked form the highway exit to this place where cars drive slowly and can pullover between traffic beacons.

After a while asking people at the gas station to get a ride to Caen, an employee came to me telling me that I can't hitchhike at tbe gas station, because it's 'private'. I told him the pumps might be some sort of private, but the rest of the parking lot surely isn't. He told me that's also private and that I couldn't ask people on the parking lot either. He said I should go to the departemental road and hitchhike there, to Caen. I refused his idiotic proposal. He then went back inside to call security or whoever he wanted to call. I went to the parking lot and found a car that drove me straight to the last gas station before Caen, part of the same company. I waved there to the cctv haha.

Found a guy going to Paris with room for me and my folding bicycle

Hitchhiked here twice after two different Rammstein concerts in the King Baudouin Stadium. Sign saying Lummen, a town known for its highway intersection, the he'Klaverblad' as they say.

Hitchhiked here many times towards Ghent, France or the seaside. Cars drive slowly and can easily pullover on the hard shoulders. Waited mostly 5 tot 10 minutes.

A hitchhiker has been caught here by Google Streetview in August '25 with a sign RTM. R'dam is more common for Rotterdam.
