Very few cars on this road. People get out of work from the local factory at around 4pm and go back home to Jurva so you might get a ride then. I got a ride from someone who knows me because I'm from this village. Your best chances are at 4pm and at morning when people from the village go to work.
Was standing on the opposite side from the sign so that people have time to react to me. Was very lucky to get a ride at this hour, not many cars going.
Better spot than the ramp! 2 drivers I heard talk about a hitchiker that was on that ramp could not react to them in time, so they were only able to pick me up. This may be the best spot going south from Oulu!
This spot is hard to reach, but I think there's a legal place to stop here! It's a huge bus stop basically, but it's not an actual bus stop. It's called "Vändplats" It has the traffic sign that you aren't allowed to park there but you are allowed to stop there. Had a truck stop there for me and took me straight to Tornio! Look at this spot with street view.
Got a good ride but not where I expected. There was a finnish dude who drove me to a better spot and called my spot terrible XD The spot he drove me to is not visible on the map, but it's an amazing spot!
(didn't get a ride) I should have stayed here instead of walking forward, it's the best hitchiking spot towards Gränna in like 4 kilometers. Recommend trying to hitchike to Skärholmen and so on until Gränna if you are going to Stockholm. Not that many cars here, it's a small road.
No one going to Stockholm from here either. Went to Kaxholmen to take the small road to Gränna. If you are here, you shouldn't try to go far, Gränna at most. Gränna junction has a great hitchiking spot to get further! I was here quite late so maybe it's better earlier.
I used this spot ONLY due to construction and it being the replacement motorway in 21.6.2026 This spot probably isn't as good when the construction is over and the road back to normal.
You can not get to Berlin from here, so you have to hitchike to Rangsdorf first, on the ramp that turns to Berlin. No one goes to Berlin through this gas station.
Not the best spot, but I got a ride in the end. It was just on the side of the road, there's not that much space to stop. There is a gas station however right next to it so people stop near where you are and get some time to think about it!
I didn't get a ride because I got here in the evening, and coming back from Marijampolė in the morning at 8am was already too late for trucks going to Poland I think. Only trucks going north at that hour. It seems like a great spot if you are here at a better time than I was.
Was standing on the grass where people turn to their houses, because the street was blocked by some construction as of 7th of june 2026. Tried to go to Suwałki/Poland, but changed sign to Marijampolė to get out of here. Not the best spot but definetly not bad and it's very doable. Might be better spot if you are here bit earlier than I was but the spots further down the road towards Poland are probably better.
Not much traffic, waited between 30 minutes to an hour and couldn't get a ride. Walked all the way over to outskirts of Valka for a better spot on the Latvia side.
Hitchiked directly from the staircase where everyone leaves the car deck from on the Eckerö line boat! Go to the car deck immediately when you get on the boat when everyone is coming out of their cars. Recommend doing this so you can get a ride before you even come out of the boat!
This place is a trap that's hard to get out of, Luckily one of the cars picked me up leaving the gas station. Very few cars here, like 1 every minute at most.
Had to wait a while while walking down the road to get a ride. No bus stop or anything, just the side of the road. A lovely couple picked me up, had worked in the nearby ABC for 30 years!
