Going East/Milano->then further to Austria, You have to put some effort into reaching this spot but for me it was absolutely worth it. I decided to start it chill here before trying to catch every car going out, so I just sat down had some breakfast and watched out for a non italian car. Goal was getting a ride to Austria, so when the first german car came I asked them and got a ride right to my home city.
for the approach see the pictures. there are several bus lines going to different stations nearby, then you have to walk for around 30 minutes, but it is definitly worth trying it. Probably the best spot around.

Would not recommend for going to the east/Milano. Two cars stopped when I did not use my sign, but they went to totally different destinations, rather west and south of Torino. apart from that the spot is quite okay with a big grassy area.

Going east/Torino. Dont go to Torino if you want to get past it, that was the biggest mistake I did. For Torino this is probably a good spot, many big roads converge and lead to the highway. There is a full lane for cars to stop safely.
I would have prefered the roundabout north from here, because there might be someone going far and avoiding the highway going on the road north of the highway. Dont know if there is space though...

Going east/direction of Torino. Good spot, but most people going far distance wont pass this place but rather go to the highway before. Many Italians probably go to Torino though.

trying to get to the east/Torino, this is just the wrong road, because everyone is going in the opposite direction and there was only a hand ful of cars going in my direction. There is also space for cars to stop on the other side, but they go very fast here...

Good spot, there is enough space to pull over, but not much traffic, so better go to the village of Oulx. Especially if you wanna go in direction of Turin/east I would not recommend this place.

Going East/ to Italy, Oulx. Very good spot but no shades. But it is the only way to Italy so everyone passes here and people are friendly in this area.

Perfect spot on the main road of this village. Super nice driver, talked about lots of things although it was a very short ride.

Going <b>East<\b>: col du lautaret, Briancon. Very good spot, people see you and have to slow down for the turn.
Though I had to wait quite long because road was about to get closed for the Tour de France...

Going South/Grenoble: I like the spot, lots of space, but people in this area always seem to be in a rush, both times I stood here I had to wait a long time. (First time I was going to Lyon and had to go to another place) Though people coming from north and from sout who want to go on the highway south have to pass here, so it seems to be the best option around.

Going South/Grenoble. Better to go a bit north, there is like a gravel lane for cars to stop. A lot more obvious for the drivers that you can stop here.

Going West/to France. Super easy spot lots of space, but only cars coming from Austria are covered. But I always got a quick ride here

At some point I just wanted to get away from this place, no matter where. A woman stopped and advised me to take the bus and train if I actually want to get to Milano, because people are not used to give rides here.
