Great spot to head east. Cars have a good view of your sign and are traveling about 50km/h to grt onto the highway. Got a ride to rivière du loup and got lucky as that person had a friend leaving for Fredericton as soon as we arrived. I ended up using a sign that just said EST/EAST and that seemed to work better than Saying Moncton or Fredericton

Ended up getting dropped off here from a short ride and was able to get another ride within 5 minutes by sticking my thumb out by the exit onto the highway. Tons of cars to ask around as well if that doesn't work out for you.

Got a ride to a rest stop about 10 minutes up the road within 5 minutes. Unsure if it was luck or not but the location is right at a traffic light. Traffic heading onto the highway here was alright, there's definetely better spots. Cops won't bother you here since you are on city limits (I know cause a cop drove me there 😅)

I expected great things from this spot. Got a lot of waves and smiles but it didn't seem many people were heading to Quebec City. Ended up getting a ride from two cops to the edge of town and luckily was not handed a ticket. There's a lot of traffic through here so I think I may have been unlucky.

It's tough to get out here, quite a trek from Winnipeg but if you post up at the traffic lights, you should have no problem catching a ride. Nice shoulder for people to pull over. Had a guy driving a propane fueled truck take me all the way to Sudbury across 3 days. Also it's a truck stop so you could try your luck with a truck if they are allowed to pick you up.

Probably the best spot to head NE out of vernon. Most people making a pitstop in town will pass through here. You can post up right near the traffic lights with a sign and there's plenty of room for someone to pull over just past the traffic lights. Took a while but got a ride straight through to Revelstoke.

Most drivers were locals and those who were heading out of hope seemed to be heading SE. Not much traffic and very slow moving. Ended up having a couple pull over and call out to me after filling up with gas at Centex. Got a direct ride to Merrit.

Close to food and amenities. Drivers also moving slow enough to get a good look at you. Police did not seem to mind this location. Got 1 offer and it was a direct ride to Hope. Bring a hat because there is no shade here!

Great visibility and very easy for drivers to pull into the Ice cream shop parking lot right from the highway. Direct ride to Nanaimo. Also, ice cream if you get discouraged!

Lots of traffic all routed towards Kelowna. There's also a traffic light so they have to slow down and get a good look at you. There is no shade so be prepared to stand in the heat. Had a group of 2 young women do a U-Turn and give me a ride to Kelowna.
