There’s an emergency lane and a lot of space for cars to stop. Even it’s a non-pedestrian zone I didn’t had problems when the police passed by. It’s the best place to go south (Lausanne, Geneve, Montreux).
I stood with a sign that said Geneva and in 10 min. I’ve got a ride to Lausanne.
Great spot to Moldova. Many locals from all backgrounds travel together here in busses. Russians, Romanians, Moldovans and Ukrainiansm Don't bother using a sign, it's expected to talk to people who park there for several reasons. They are very willing to help you find a ride. Use Google translate if you don't speak the language. You will need a passport to enter Moldova and be prepared to wait at the border, but it is truly worth it. A friend and I waited for 90 minutes, most buses were full but we got great help. At the end a Moldovan tour bus took us with them through northern Moldova all the way to Chisinau, for free without any problems.
