It might seem like a good idea to hitchhike closer to the lights, but it isn't, unless your direction is Velika Gorica/Karlovac. If your direction is Osijek/Bosnia/Serbia I'd suggest thumbing before the entrance to the gas station, and really make yourself visible, because your drivers are most likely on the lanes closer to the middle. Tough place.
I don;t know which ones sucks more - this, or Budaors. Quite difficult to access too. After 7 hours(I'm not counting sleep), I;ve found a driver going straight to Poland.
In theory sweet spot, in practice it took an hour to find a car going to Budapest. Seems like a very decent spot though. As usual on hungarian petrol stations - caution advised at night.
