You might expect a gas station on the highway to be a great place. I actuallly had to wait 21 hours to get a ride towards belgrade. ANd actually a quite short ride with a truck driver to the border queu that involved 3km walking. At least it's a great place to camp, but consider that it's closed at night and during the day toilet is with payment. There is also a free chemical toilet on the truck park. Chances might be higher if you go towards Osijek

I hitchhiking here and my experience was not very good. Despite this, several locals told me this is the best place and the most known, so maybe I was just unlucky. I was with an hitchiking partner, and we split trying to HH either from the shoulder or at the exit of the gas station, but we needed more than 2 hours for a ride. Cars go quite fast on the road, despite there is a traffic light. We tried to HH from the gas station, but an employees came and said to go out because it's private property. Actually in this 2 hours, 6 cars stopped, but they were all going inside the city
