Hitchhiker

Good spot for local travelling. There is a red light were all drivers towards Gettorf/Eckernförde/Schleswig need to spot. Asked around with a sign and got many offers super quickly

I only tried for 15min but there was very little traffic on a wednesday 11:00 so I think the spot may not be the best.

The gas station is quite busy and almost everyone goes to madrid. You can find toilets, showers (broken atm) and a small shop with chargers. The prices are the usual. There is a small restaurant but not many people come to eat. Most stop for a quick pause as there is a small park nearby. Its as good as it gets for spain, many people are freaked out by hitchhiking but we managed to catch a ride to madrid within 30min.

There is a gas station + a restaurant there. Many cars come by, around 50% go to Valencia and 50% go to Madrid. You can ask drivers at the gas station or at the restaurant, we did both and found someone in the restaurant right away. A cute couple took us 1 hour closer to madrid. Tip: When you find a service station on their way, make sure it has many ratings (1000+) so you don't get stranded.

To go towards Madrid/Andalusia: You reach this spot by the public „metrobus“ 430A from Valencia. Its not the red city busses but the yellow metrobus. It starts from the main bus station but dont try to catch it there because noone knows where it departs. We caught it one spot down from there and it came by the time stated on google maps. Its like 3€. The spot itself is not great but okay. There are people going to Valencia or other local towns (many), some to Madrid and quite a few to Andalusia/Sevilla/Portugal. Many cars are full. We arrived at 20:00 and tried for 2 hours and got close to a lift to madrid multiple times. We went to sleep in a field nearby which was perfect. Next day it took us another 2 hours to go to another service station 1 1/2 hours towards spain. I don't know if we just got unlucky but I think its just spain. Many people are shocked when you ask them for a lift.

Great spot, 10min walk from Benidorm Internodal Train Station. The walk is a tiny bit sketchy but it works. You NEED a sign, we were lucky and got to valencia in 10min :)

Hitched here twice, once to Rijeka; took me only 10min. Once I went all the way from Bosnia in summer and waited 2 hours for it

Waited 1 hour halfway to Rijeka but it was like 5 in the morning. I think its a good spot, easily reached by bus.

Good spot to go onto the highway.

Got a lift here and from here straight to Albania just with a thumb. Great spot but idk if its reachable easily.

Went for a long ride and found one to Ljubljana after 2 hours of asking people at the gas station :)

good spot to get out of berlin, I got dropped here by a friend. Not many cars on a morning but still enough.

Not that many people on a morning and a huge station. We got a lift after 90min.

I was coming from Montpellier to Lyon and had the choice to be dropped here or at the big peage a few km towards Lyon. My destination was Germany. After 15min a german couple took me in their camper van! Maybe I was lucky but from what I see there are enough cars, toilets, possibilities for food so I would prefer this over the peage anytime again! You can ask german cars (or swiss etc) depending on your needs.

Asked around at the gas station with a sign in hand. After 45min, a kind couple from the netherlands took me to lyon :) many cars also go to Marseile and Aix en Provence

Great spot actually! You can go just before the peage, there are 2 lanes to Montpeillier/Toulouse and two to Barcelona/Girona. Your allowed to stand right before peage but not after. Cars go slow. I was picked up to Montpellier after 20min on a tuesday morning.

Easy life to Hamburg after 15minutes. Many cars with licence plate „HH“

++ Many cars Excellent for Sleeping: we asked the workers and they allowed us to sleep in a upstairs area were it was warm and private. I even took some pillows from a sofa there. — Almost no cars going to Germany. Here is how to we got to Germany: walk along the highway for 5 minutes (direction luxembourg) and exit the highway onto the first bridge that comes up. From there walk left and you will reach a train station that will take you to luxembourg for free. From there use your Deutschlandticket for the train to Koblenz.

Not many cars but great interaction. We got a ride at night.

Easy spot to reims. 30% of cars stopped

Sorry, the last positive review was meant for another spot, I mixed it up. This spot is quite bad, it took us 2 hours to go 30min towards reims (from where we reached reims quickly. All cars only go to paris or beglium/netherlands but those were all full. I recommend you leave one stop early to find another station.

We were dropped here at night (22:00) and managed to still catch a ride into the netherlands. Good spot there is a sitting area in front of the gas station were you can confidently sit with a sign and ask the drivers as they park right in front of you. I think we got lucky because the drivers felt sorry for us.

This spot has everything: many cars, lots of international traffic, a restaurant. BUT NOONE STOPS! We thought we would wait 15mins here but took us over 3 hours to get a 3 hour ride. Everybody is full and many people were unfriendly, even the ones from france. Maybe your luck will be better because objectively this spot seems good.

Great spot also for international travel

Not a bad spot to catch a ride towards france or the north in general. We were dropped here at night and slept in a field nearby - its easy to sleep in many places in the nearby industrial area. For the spot itself, there are not that many cars but still enough going to the north. I recommend. Asking around will as almost always be your best bet.

THIS SPOT IS AMAZING! So many cars and many going to Madrid. You need two people to ask all the drivers. Spots like these make hitchhiking easy in spain

Great spot to go towards Eckernförde. There is space to stop and many nice drivers coming by.

Great spot to go onto the Autobahn to reach other service stations. Hitch with a sign at the bus stop, cars can easily stop there. How to reach this spot: bus number 16.

This is a great spot to go towards the balkans. It can be reached from Salzburg via Bus easily and you can sleep nearby. I think there is a fence but it has holes. All cars stopping there are going to the balkans especially during holiday season. Many full but I used this spot 2 times and it was always great!

Almost got a ride to Marseille there after a few minutes. Some cars going to Netherlands too. After an hour I got one to malaga. Cars are coming regulary, you can speak to them at the gas station. I think its a good spot to be dropped of

Bad spot, almost no cards, deserted. A kind man took us to a better station.

Supbar Spot that we were taken from to another very subpar spot. There is a traffic light were people stop and you can kind of contact them with a sign. They can go right after the traffic spot but its not very convenient for them.

++ the cars go slow there are many good interaction with the drivers — many cars go only inside chaoen After 10mins a kind driver took us 10km outside the city to a better spot.

10mins and a kind guy took us to tanger med. he even made a detour for us. I think we were lucky though, because the cars are already quite fast.

took 20minutes from here to tetouan. We got here by a nice driver that took us from chefchaoen

Im the one who wrote the previous comment. Edit: we had no luck at total, actually I think this spot might be better to fes because some people take the highway from there. I give 5 stars to neutralize my previous rating, but you will need a sign there because not many cars stop at the station

Bad spot to go to fes. Waited 2 hours and went back to get a bus. Everybody told us fes is to far. Maybe it will be better for you to try the highway route. Also no shadow.

There is a way better spot „total“ about 1km towards Fes. We had no luck there because there were almost only motorbikes stopping, so we decided to relocate to Total with a taxi for 20drh.

Asked people at the gas station and found a ride to Marrakech within 15min
