Asked around and got incredibly lucky, a ride all the way to Irun with a French/Portuguese man. Don’t know what the alternative would be, maybe at the border crossing works better

If you somehow end up here, and although the actual stop is further up the road, the driver will stop and can take you for free to the border

Pretty empty on a Monday morning, asked around and found someone going to a town near Vilar Formoso (fluent Portuguese). If you’re coming from Guarda center it’s a 90 minute walk with some fence-hopping and train track-crossing
