We were two Backpacker going to direction SanJuan and Salta. The intersection is great spot and wide place to stop for cars. We got ride aroud 35 km to Lavalle. ( We realized there is a bus is going here Number 300 ,who want to get a bit far from citycan consider this option)There is a Police check point in This town which cars stop too.
We might say hitchiking is tough in Argentina and takes long times, drivers most of time does not seems friendly.

Spot is okay, people goes a bit too fast but long road and place to stop for cars. Reachable in bus, line 611 i believe, to El Borbollon. There is a gas station also near. Mendoza is hard to get out from, i think here you are pretty sure to leave. Not a lot of camions though―losangelitos

I got so insanely lucky here. 1212km in one truck. Stood with a sign waiting, many cars going in the right direction, the truck stopped to let somebody out and I asked him where he went and well 24 hours later I was in Mendoza―crazyrik
