Quite okay spot. When I was hitching in January 2025 the servo was closed and the traffic was going slower (60) due to ongoing construction works. I camped behind the station no need to go onto the horse place.―CarlitosPL

Great spot for hitching north. Just stand on the exit ramp. Heaps of cars.―CarlitosPL

Perfect spot for heading south (Pre Bypass). The cars are going slow for the last roundabout out of Coffs and there’s heaps of space near the Cunningham banana place for them to pull over.Took maybe 5-10 minutes TOPS
Had a big cardbord sign for Newcastle. Probably best spot current out of Coffs.

I was lost in the middle of nowhere with my bike... Very few cars but hopefully one of them stopped!―Anonymous

Hitched out from here heading South (Syd/Melb) and just stood right on the hwy. Plenty of space to pull over, pretty safe spot. Got a ride in 10mins.―Anonymous

Traffic is going pretty quick, but I awkwardly camped here overnight. There is a horse training facility nearby. You can jump the fence and camp there for flatter ground, but you'll probably be spotted in the morning, as the riders are up at dawn. They called out hello to me!In terms of leaving, someone pulled out of the service station to pick me up. I waited around 10-15 minutes. I didn't bother asking people at the service station, but that would have worked had it been later in the day with more traffic.

BP Beresfield servo. Ask drivers filling up with fuel or infront of the restaurant, or if there servo is quite it is possible to thumb it on John Renshaw Drive where there is space for cars to pull over. Its an 80km/h zone so the traffic is not too fast.―Anonymous
