Perfect spot, near the exit of Matinhos and accessible with the free city bus. In twenty minutes, we had one offer to take us for 80 R$, but we waited a bit more and received a valid hitch all the way to Curitiba! 👌―Anonymous

We were hitchhiking at the end of the gas station. A car going out of the car station took us directly to Curitiba, but I believe the cars on the rodovia have enough space to stop. The gas station is accessible with the bus 032 from the métro station "Vila Sonia".―Anonymous

Por ter pista marginal fica praticamente impossivel pegar carona na beira da estrada. O movimento de caminhões no posto é pequeno porque alguns quilômetros a frente tem outro posto que é maior, mais movimentado e tem acostamento (quando paro nesse posto peço carona pra la)―Mrcsrodrigues

Curitiba is known among hitchhikers as a hard city to hitchhike. But for me and a friend (a girl) in a SUNDAY, next to Christmass holyday (dec 23th) and almost raining, on the way going to Florianópolis, it was incradible easy. Didn't take 5minutes to truck stop for us.HOW TO GET IN THIS SPOT:
- Take a bus to the Boqueirão bus station
- Take a bus to Central bus station of São José dos Pinhais
- Take the bus to Jardim Carmen (maybe the bus going to São Marcos also can take you somewhere next to here)
- Ask to get off in front of the Cupim 2 gas station

Este ponto de carona é uma boa porque fica perto de duas estradas a BR277 que liga o litoral do Paraná ao Paraguay, e a BR116 principal rodovia brasileira.O ponto no mapa não está exatamente no lugar certo, mas não é difícil chegar lá.
No terminal de São José pegue o ônibus BORDA DO CAMPO (R$2,95) e peça para descer na BR antes de entrar em borda do campo, ou se preferir fique de olho no lado direito que tem um posto de saúde, assim que ver ele pode dar o sinal.
Descendo do ônibus mais ou menos de 1 Km a frente você vai encontrar dois grandes postos de gasolina (um em cada lado da pista) é tranquilo pegar carona lá.
Mas também se quando você descer do ônibus caminhar uns 2 Km para trás você vai ter um bom ponto de acesso a BR 116 , tem um bom acostamento, boa visibilidade, e passa bastante caminhão.

descendo de São Paulo a Santa Catarina, minha carona me deixou em um dos piores lugares para seguir viagem. Andei alguns km até esse local, a noite, levei 1 hora e meia até conseguir carona para SC. sem acostamento, pouca iluminação, muita velocidade. Só com muita sorte.―Anonymous
