Walked here from town center, the family living on the hitchhiking spot gave me water, fruit from their tree, 2 package of biscuits and spontaneously offered a ride to border. Be careful with hot weather as both here and border require some walk.―GiovanniTonucci

Shortcut to Kuala Lurak border to Limbang. Come here by bus 42, BSB-Seria or Southern line from Bandar center. Bus is 1 bnd, first one 7:15am. A rare Sufi man offered me double Nasi Ikan, took me to border, offered me 10bnd.1 month volunteering in Brunei will stay in my heart. Crossed Limbang, Temburong and reached Kota Kinabalu 13 hours later.

Brunei is so chill and welcoming, you can hitchhike everywhere, even in the city center, since local buses stop working 5:30pm. Can get rides all day all evening long, even for just 1km to/from Gadong market or to the bridge to Kampung Ayer.You can volunteer at Coliving Hostels in Bandar or Kiulap or Menglait just remind her that adventurer/nomad travelers require two days off a week not zero not one and they shouldn't pay for the night on their arrival, while food is on you.
You can also contact Eco Ponies Garden in Lamunin to volunteer for a big family in a natural village and make your entire stay free.
