Many cars going by. Maybe was just unlucky but took a bit for me to find a ride. Still good spot

Doesn't get any better than this. The highway starts here so every car is taking it. But it's still walking distance from the city center. I got a ride in less than five minutes- best hitchhiking spot I've ever seen in the world.

its true!!! Best hitching spot in the damn world. In the dark, in the rain, still always <5 min. Cars all go straight to Santiago, highway curves here at the Copec station so everyone sees you.

Выезд на трассу 5 (на север).
Возле кольца есть остановка. Возле неё можно отлично стопить.

All directions, either south to Santiago, north to La Serena or east towards Mendoza in Argentina. Emergency lane at the entrance to the motorway. You can get nearby by micros (mini buses) from Valparaiso or Viña del Mar. Ask for the ones going to Quilpue as they all pass near Jumbo Hipermarket in Viña. Get off near Puente Lusitania, cross the bridge and turn east. Another option is metro to the station Chorillos (electronic card needed, no single tickets).

South or southeast towards Santiago or Rancagua. Copec petrol station at the entrance to the motorway. The spot is in a walking distance from the bus terminal and you can get there by many micros (mini buses) from the historic part of Valparaiso.

Hitchhiked here few times. Always got a ride for 10 minutes maximum. From Viña and Achupayllas take a bus 406.
