Good spot near a gas station. Lots of cars, right around a corner so people are going slow and have plenty of time to decide to pick you up. Lots of truckers going to Neiva. Lots of mosquitos.―evilvindiesel

Very easy to hitch across the desert if you don't feel like walking under the heat. Lot's of tourists who are hoping from viewpoint to view point. The desert is also a great place to wild camp, the night sky is apparently breathtaking (it was cloudy when I went unfortunately). Don't forget to pack a lot of water !―Circusonfoot

Tons of locals and tourists coming to and from the desert. I wasn't even trying to hitch and got offered a ride in the back of a pickup. Incredibly easy and the desert is a great place to wild camp.―evilvindiesel
