banger, i find this one reliable to go far into france direction reims. heading northwest, don't bother taking rides shorter than aire du haut-koenigsbourg. there's plenty of ppl going long distances, especially luxembourg/belgium. also loads of german cars.―atlas

Some traffic to Saarbrücken but not a lot. Met a really friendly guy going coming back from work who dropped us off just before Saarbrücken.―Proxi

Waited with a sign in rush hour traffic (6:45am) a few meters in front of the bus stop. Really good spot because it is just a few meters from the highway onramp to Saarbrücken. A sign could really help because most of the people are going to Saarlouis.―Anonymous

Not much traffic here. There are some truck drivers, but well, we are couple, so not really an option. There was actually one creepy guy but we got quickly taken by two Syrians heading to Luxembourg, so all good.―Anonymous

I would not say it is a good spot. There is a red light but cars dont really have space to stop, you must be mega fast. Got lucky here as one lady signaled to run to her car throw the things in just before the green light appeared. It was a bit streesful.―Anonymous

Low traffic in early morning, got a lucky ride to Austria.I've seen mostly local plates and several german ones, I've been told that people going to Strasbourg from Metz prefer to take the free motorway through Nancy.

We asked truckers and in 45 minutes we had a ride to Manheim.
Most of the people are going to Strasbourg, some to Rheinland and just a little direction Nürnberg.

very good for west/north, but almost nobody going to Nancy/south. In case you want to go to Nancy/Lyon, better get the first lift to Metz Center and walk to the petrol station in Metz(see articel about Metz)―Janpa
