Nice spot in the shade, but thin traffic and you're really stuck here when not getting a ride.―Anonymous

Great spot for hitching north from Thessaloniki. There are traffic lights so the cars are really slow there. We were 2 guys and had a sign North Macedonia.―Anonymous

There's an abandoned toll station here providing shade in summer (one could even sleep in the booths at night), good visibility and road broad enough for traffic to stop for you. Not much traffic, but got a ride to the border within half an hour.―Anonymous

Lots of traffic, used the slip road where traffic coming from the highway goes west, just after the traffic lights. Quick ride to the A1 highway crossing.―Anonymous

Tough one if going towards Macedonia. After 5min had a ride offer to Thessaloniki, unfortunately declined, just to wait almost 4 hours (started 5:55 AM) for the next car to stop that went along the ring road of Thessaloniki, where there was a better spot towards Macedonia. Some tourists, but very low traffic in the early morning hours. Great sleep on the restaurant sofas though.―Anonymous

Greek cars don't stop as usual. Many MK and SRB cars but they are packed with families. After 4h night fell and we slept in the comfy field nearby, then next border got picked up by Albanian workers. There's no water so bring plenty with you!!!―Chaba

I needed to go to Macedonia and I confirm this is a good spot. Cars passing at this point of the road are going north, so it's likely to get a ride. I didn't have to wait that long.―Emanuele19956

I waited here for an hour until I satret to walk along the highway towards south. Almost no cars passing here at 18:00, no place to park, very dangerous to walk on the highway. I had to sleep close to the field. On the next morning, a truck driver took me to the second exit to thessaloniki, where people came from this city direction athens.―Gustavobretz
