Got picked up by a truck while standing in the grass on the left side the road (driver side). Used a sign with Skopje. Little shade but the post of a tall sign was just about big enough to hitch partly shaded. People drive slow here and you're very visible

It's not very busy here, and almost all cars that came here where families with full cars. I talked to a few people and got offered a ride instantly, but not to the right border so I declined. Then after waiting for 2 hours a guy on a motorcycle offered me a ride to the border. Might have been a bit reckless but it worked.

Nice spot in the shade, but thin traffic and you're really stuck here when not getting a ride.

We were 2 guys. A lot of cars passing through, they are going slow so they can clearly see you. When we were there, it was the middle of July so must of the cars were families going home from vacation so cars were full. After like 2 hours we declined 1 ride to Gevgelija. After another 2 hours we finally got a ride and it was all the way to Belgrade, we had a sign Serbia. Before we also tried with sign Skopje.

Great spot for hitching north from Thessaloniki. There are traffic lights so the cars are really slow there. We were 2 guys and had a sign North Macedonia.

There's an abandoned toll station here providing shade in summer (one could even sleep in the booths at night), good visibility and road broad enough for traffic to stop for you. Not much traffic, but got a ride to the border within half an hour.

The spot is great (great visibility and place to stop), but I ended up waiting for quite some time to find a ride to Thessaloniki. When asking around, I even talked with a man my age who said he was going to Thessaloniki, but "refused to take strangers into [his] car because of all the problems with imigrants". Funnily enough, I was picked up by an Albanian who emigrated to Greece a few minutes later.

got a ride to thessaloniki with a greek guy but I wanted to keep going south, so he left me on the road before the exit to thessaloniki. However, the road after the exit is dead, nobody is driving there. I had to camp in the middle of the forest (i was with all equipment to sleep and cook). I went all the way to the second exit to thessaloniki where the cars are coming from this city towards south

I was passing the border in the direction to Thessaloniki on foot and the first driver I asked after I passed Macedonian passport control, took me all the way to Thessaloniki.

I found it really hard to get a ride to Skopje. LOTS OF cars stopping but Greeks won't take you and Serbian cars are completely packed with people.

My friend and I (two guys) waited for 30 minutes before being picked up by a Macedonian guy who took us to Thessaloniki. Don't even bother with Greek license plates.

I waited in a spot a little further south, where the main road meets the one coming from the duty-free shops, and I got a ride to Serres. It's good to know some words in Bulgarian and Greek.

Greek taxi driver took us for free to Thessaloniki. Maybe we were just lucky.

Just as the description said: great spot, but Greek drivers won't stop.

This place is just averagely hitchhikeable. I needed to head to the general direction of Skopje but it was still hard to find a ride. Don't bother with Greek cars as they're just going to the casino. It is possible to find a ride though, so don't give up!

I was going to the Border with Macedonia and even though there aren't many cars stopping by, you can still ask people refilling gas. I got a ride straight to the border!
