We just waved at cars and soon one stopped; nobody speaks English nor understands Google translate, so quickly there was a crowd around us trying to figure out what we wanted. Buses to Bikaner go a long route through Phalodi and we knew we could save several hours if we hitched the highway. A private car stopped and tried to convince us to go with him to Phalodi where we could get the bus, but we asked to be dropped at the onramp.―JulianayJulianColombianCouple

Empty, very well paved highway. We walked on some sandy paths up to the highway and pretty much the first truck stopped, going all the way to Kashmir. Very friendly guys, delighted to have hitchhikers, they kept making instagram reels. After a while they asked a few uncomfortable sexual questions, but as we were a married couple we didn't feel unsafe. Might be different for solo females. Otherwise, surprisingly good hitchhiking experiences in India, always picked up in less than 5 minutes, nobody asks for money, everyone genuinely curious and delighted to meet you and taking endless pictures.―JulianayJulianColombianCouple
