Anywhere on the highway south of Esfahan it's feasible to catch a ride south. Got a ride within 30 minutes all the way down to Esfahan with a truck. So don't worry.―Tomtom

You can catch the bus on the north side of the river of the main bridge.To avoid all the shared taxis, I just kept on walking down the highway to a spot where cars could stop. It might take a few short hops until you find something longer.

get bus 91 will get to the southern bus terminal. Cross the highway and there is bus stop. Hitchhiking is not easy with many share taxi to Shiraz or south of Isfahan. We take a bus (5000 IRR) to Baharestan, the next town to hitchhike―Anonymous

I'm guessing at the hitch point somewhere along this road. Traffic is fast but if you've got the patience you'll get a ride out of the city eventually. Be aware most drivers will try to take you to the bus terminal or ask for money - which get's incredibly frustrating as it happens very frequently.―Anonymous
