HaShalom junction (next to the haShalom rail station) is a good place to hitch hike if you're north-bound. At the rail station, walk east until you arrive to the Ayalon highway northbound traffic lights. The road is accessible and very wide - Favorable spots are a factory front with a lot of parking space, and a small hitch hiking station further down the lane, even though you are more likely to be seen next to the factory. Most cars either travel to the Kfar Saba-Raanana area via hwy #4, or all the way to Haifa via hwy #2. Remember that in Israel, the sign is extending the index finger and pointing towards the road (sideways, basically) instead of the traditional thumb.―Anonymous

Two backpackers took a ride from here to Ramat-gan on Shabbat and we could go until Rishon-Lezion.שני תרמילאים תפסו מכאן טרמפ לרמת גן תוך רגע ביום שבת. בחור צעיר לקח אותנו ויכולנו גם להגיע לראשון לציון.

Here on Shabbat(Saturday late afternoon, mid August), direction airport. There is some space for car to pull by, I walked past the traffic light and onto the entrance of highway. There just 5 minutes, some tourists picked me up to the airport. Quite a decent spot I’d say!―Leafpete
