Screw this hellhole. Had tons of visibility, tons of space, tons of traffic, yet it took 2 hours for someone to stop when I had a sign for a place literally 20 mins up the road almost everyone here would drive along. plenty of people waved and some even came over and took selfie with me, but nobody picked me up for 2 hours getting burnt in the sun. A place where the quality of the spot makes a 2 hour wait excessive. The guy who stopped was amazing and had travelled himself so kudos to him. Google translate conversation as no English. The rest stop has 300 years coin showers for ten mins, and 200 Yen washing machines, 100 Yen dryers.―Bardthetortoiseslayer

A good spot to get from the Fuji area backt to the expressway at the coast. Easily accessible with the blue sightseeing bus from Kawaguchiko and a 10 min walk. You can stand behind a road barrier with good visibility and a small road behind for cars to pull in. Also decent traffic on a Tuesday morning.―LostBoi

Big service area with good infrastructure. I used it to get to Nagoya. Quite a big distance on foot from the nearest station but once you are there it's easily accessible from the north side, where you find stairs that lead to the small park of the service area. Traffic wasn't that much but decent enough to get picked up quite fast. At least on Tuesday afternoon.―LostBoi
