Shortly after eating my lunch I was approched by a truck driver. He took me all the way to Hiroshima (including a second lunch along the way). Japanese people are so friendly and according to hichwiki you should not refuse the free meals/gifts. Station is big but was not very busy. Make sure to use a sign in kanji and look tidy.―GermanyToIndia

I came here after failing at the other spot more towards the city. It was very busy (weekday morning) but people did not pay a lot of attention to me or my sign (in kanji). After around 1,5 hours I was picked up by a guy who bought me lunch at the next stop.Access to the SA is good (by train and then walk) and no fences need to be climbed. Just make sure to stand on the correct side (I used the other side then marked but yk, same station so this spot should be used).

Было уже поздно я спросил в комбини о возможности разместить палатку, мне ответили что нельзя (не знают). Я вышел,чтобы спросить ближайшие машины о возможности поставить. В итоге они отвезли на парковку за Окаямой, где идеальный лесок, где можно поставить палатку (у меня оранжевая палатка). Все удобства есть. Спрашивать никого не пришлось. Спокойно выспался.―Baristina

Поставил табличку рядом с рюкзаком, пошел купить лапшу и возвращаюсь стоят 2 человека и хотят помочь. Позже табличку увидел ещё 1 человек ехавший из Кобе. Я поехал с ним и он познакомил с семьёй и накормил ужином после этого отвёз на парковку.―Baristina

At first I was worried that the spot was gonna be bad because it really doesn't seem like cars could stop anywhere. BUT: after only 2 minutes I got a ride to himeji with a very kind family.They stopped their car in a road parallel to the onramp, so if you attract cars from the main road, they will have a chance to stop there and reenter onto the highway, so don't worry.
I even got help from the local firefighters at their building just down the road, one of them walked me all the way to the point and explained me where to go and what to write on my sign.
If you need the bathroom, further down the road there is a gas station with a clean bathroom, so your needs should be covered.
I recommend this spot, even though it seemed sketchy at first.
Edit: on my sign I wrote 姫路方面 which means "towards himeji"
You can ask your ride to drop you of at the next SA, or service area (サービスエリア)
