Decetn spot to go nort on the island. Doubt this is any good to go to Okayama. Got me to Takamatsu. The traffic slow-ish so theres enough time to pull into the car park.

Was here by accident - caught the wrong train, and while waiting the hour for the next one saw this on the map and thought why not.
Would be good for if you were leaving Shikoku, I guess.

Service area near the station. ~660 yen from Takamatsu.
Going towards Takamatsu is fairly small but still sufficient traffic to get picked up. Other side looks significantly bigger.

Solo Caucasian Woman travelling with a sign for Okayama. Family knew english and knew the word hitchhiking. Waited at exit ramp to highway with thumb, sign and smile

West towards Takamatsu. Not much traffic when I was there around 1pm. But the spot is good and lots of space to pull over near the bus stop. Easy access from Bandou train station. A gate but unlocked + legal. (No "do not enter" signs like some others)

I tried higher up on the on-ramp for 30 minutes but there wasn’t room to stop. Once I moved down to the pin (entrance to the ramp) it only took like 15-20 minutes. Stand right closer to beginning so cars have time to stop.

Tricky spot because of the cars exiting the PA going across the main road to the highway. Got a ride from someone walking up to me, not sure if a car would have ever pulled over while driving out. Going to Okayama across Seto bridge

There is a toilet, lots of space. A truck driver took us even thou we were a couple, he suggested me to hide behind curtain in his cabin, my partner was sitting in the front.
