(July 2025 - solo male) Walked while hitchhiking with a sign to Otrar. A car stopped after a few minutes giving me a ride straight to the mausoleum. Visibility is great; traffic is decent; if there is not too much traffic, cars can pull over easily. There are busses going to this place, although I don't remember the numbers. You should be able to ask around though.―Vojaganto

Got a ride to Tukistan after 10 minutes (July 2025 - solo male). Traffic is decent, easy for cars to stop, good visibility from afar. You can stay under the bridge for some shade.―Vojaganto

Just checked out the mausoleum and now you want to head towards Shymkent-Almaty? Just walk for about 5-10 minutes from the mausoleum and you can start HHing. Explain the driver that you are hitchhiking or travelling without money/paying.―Anonymous
