Got a ride with an Albanian elderly man. He couldn't speak english, but we managed with google translate and hand signs. He dropped us near the old town of Prizren. Friendly person.

After the border control there’s lots of space to stop. I was picked up by a shared taxi, but was lucky enough to not have to pay for the ride.

Busy street, but not so busy at the gas station itself.

Gasstation before Kukes; no good. Local traffic and lots of traffic on the highway turning into Kukes

Find a ride into Kukes and walk towards the road leaving town. There I had a ride to Tirana in 15 min (and lots of offers for (shared) taxis.

You can wait by the rundown shack here at the bottom of the hill. Was picked up almost straight away by a lovely Albanian family who spoke excellent english.

Very easy to hitch to Brod, just walk through Dragash until you get to the outskirts, then lash out the thumb. The first car should stop.

Took a while as it was May day and all the cars were full of families going back from whence they came. You cannot fail to hitch out of Brod though, but would it be so bad if you did? Brod is amazing!

Easy to come here. But it's just a border for local people in July and August.
We went to mount Korab but we met the North Macedonia police and we came back by feet, 30 km at the border here.
It's really beautiful but you will not have a stamp here.

If you end up here you're likely to get a ride towards Kosovo reasonably fast, there's a shop and a cafe there as well

Hitching in Gora is special. the people are some of the kindest I've ever met. the road was quiet, but good quality, so enough cars. lorries are good because they seem more likely to be going to Prizren (which is what i did). be sure to, like all of these rural quiet roads in hiking areas, to be assertive in your method
