Good place to hitchhike south, at least short distances. Cars go very slowly in the heavy traffic and there's some shelter under the bus stop.―hikehitcher

Super good spot. Tree for shade, cars moving slow as they rejoin before going to the highway, had a Melaka sign and got a truck in less than a minute (4th vehicle)―Kjmurray1230

Kuala Lumpur is very easy city to hitchhike in, there is not so many spots where people can pull over but you can use the bus stops in the city.―Anonymous

There is a big toll gate south of the city which is an excellent hitchhiking place, but not too easy to reach. You can easily find a direct lift to Singapore.

It is a good place to reach south toll gates. Cars drives quite slow and they have a lot of space to stop. There was a little renovation there so it can a bit change. From toll gates you can easily have a ride to Melaka or Singapore.Using bus 400 you can get off on leisure mall or one bus stop earlier (should be even better).

Was picked up after 40 minutes. Multiple cars stopped, some wanted money. Met lovely people there.―Nikolas

I only waited 5 minutes by standing near the toll station where the cars slow down. It took me just 5 minutes to find a ride to Melaka. If hitchhiking there feels too risky, you could try walking along the bike path on the left to reach the gas station behind the toll.
