High traffic area next to the exit of a large shopping centre, easy to get a ride down south.

Direction Coba, we got a lift very fast and the next time we've seen some people to Valladolid, 2 cars stopped to Coba within 15 minutes.

After the police filter you can get car to Bacalar, Chetumal and, even, Palenque.
I wait 2 minutes.

There´s a speed bump here. Got a ride quite quickly with a sign saying Cancun

Wait at a speed bump for a ride along this road, plenty of tourists coming from La Zona Hotelera will drive you at least to the intersection of highway 307, might even get a ride to a popular tourist destination if you're lucky

Cars are slower here coming through the roundabout so more likely to stop. Pretty low traffic but shouldn't be too tough finding a ride. Amazing guys gave me a ride all the way back to DT Tulum

No police checkpoint here as of 2025, walked on to the end of town.

Kind of a deserted crossroad, might not always be so lucky

Probably the best spot leaving Tulum towards the South, after a speed bump. Quite a lot of traffic, got a few short ride offers before ending up taking the ride all the way where we were going.
