First about the border crossing. You can cross it on foot without any problem, I crossed it from Transinistria to Moldova yesterday in the evening because I could stay in Transinistria only for 12 hours without accommodation and I wanted to wildcamp which I did on Moldovan side of border on small grass area in forest next to main road but when I wanted to go back to transinistria in the morning guards had problems with me carrying a pepper spray and told me that I need to throw it away if I want to cross border. As in Moldova and Transinistria a like there are a lot of stray dogs that quite often are aggressive I didn't wanted to be without anything to defend myself so I decided to go back to Moldova. Now description of spot itself starts, there is place to stop almost everywhere on that road between border control and bridge. I just stayed in the only place that had any shadow in the morning and was close to border control. Cars goes slow after border and I quickly got ride to Chisinau city center

One male 40+, no sign, one big backpack, a sunny day. On my way from Moinești in Romania to Chisinau in Moldova (successful).
I got a long ride from Romania. Unfortunately the driver wasn't going all the way to Chisinau and he dropped here, 15 kms before the capital.
I was a bit in a pickle, coz I didn't have local money to pay for a public transport. And it was maybe the last 15 minutes before the sunset. So it looked like a long way ahead of me.
Lucky I got a ride in 5 minutes. There is a nice tarmac bay in front of a closed petrol station. The visibility is also very good.

Not recommendable. I wanted to cross at another place, where I passed by, because a local told me this border crossing was easier and it was shorter to get to Chisinau. But almost only trucks and few cars for local traffic, sometimes a mashrutka. After 1.5 hrs the police asked a mashrutka to take me, so finally I got out of there. Male with sign

There are very few cars there but they usually go far distances as there are not many cities on the way (or at all). I got a ride close to Ukrainian border after 10 mins.

A lot of place for the cars stoping. Use a sign, and avoid a mini buses. Here is many officials and unofficials minibuses who always stoping to take You to Your destination, and asking for a money.

Great spot to Moldova. Many locals from all backgrounds travel together here in busses. Russians, Romanians, Moldovans and Ukrainiansm Don't bother using a sign, it's expected to talk to people who park there for several reasons. They are very willing to help you find a ride. Use Google translate if you don't speak the language. You will need a passport to enter Moldova and be prepared to wait at the border, but it is truly worth it. A friend and I waited for 90 minutes, most buses were full but we got great help. At the end a Moldovan tour bus took us with them through northern Moldova all the way to Chisinau, for free without any problems.
