Heading to south.Traffic consists of mototaxis and local cars, just few trucks. You can ask the driver to lift you to the road 3N where more trucks pass.
BE CAREFUL. The sun is pretty intensive here and there are almost no shadow next to the road. Make sure to have a hat, sunscreen and fresh water.

Heading to Chiclayo.Trucks are going from East to the coast direction. During the afternoon there were not a lot of them. I suppose more trucks are passing during the evening and night time, because of the hot weather.
The road side is good enough for cars to stop. There is a shadow from the hill. Be ready that a ride to Chiclayo will be long. Despite less than 300km of distance, trucks need up to 10 hours to make it by the mountain road. (+time for stops).
