One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, very sunny day. No shade. On my way from Subic to Manila. It looks like a great spot. An entrance to the highway. Cars are going slowly yet. An extra shoulder making loads of space to stop. But....
It's officially a highway already. You will pass a sign baning pedestrians. To make it worse there is a police booth 50 meters away. And it was manned. But I tried my luck. I'm not sure if the policeman didn't see me or didn't want to see me, be he didn't come to me. After 5 minutes a car stopped. He wanted to take me back to Olangapo bus station. In the end he agreed to take me to San Fernando. But during the ride it turned out that he was going only half way. I got passed off, coz he took me off the highway.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, very sunny day. On my way from Subic to Angees.A very good spot. Loads of space to stop and good visibility. Plus the shade. I was straggling all day. This part of the Philippines wasn't good for me. Until I reached this spot. After 5 minutes I got a lift all the way to Angeles - my destination.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, very sunny day. On my way from Subic to Angeles.Generally ok spot. Enough space to pull over. Busy but not hectic traffic. Shade to hide in. But it looks this part of the Philippines is hard to hitchhike. Some people coming and asking me what I do. Offering to help get a bus or even trying to give me money. After 45 minutes I got a short ride.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, very sunny day. On my way from Subic to Angeles. It's actually the only place possible to hitchhike. Other places are too urban. Not a very good spot. Loads of paid transport blocking the other cars. So it was hard to hike. After 25 minutes I got a very short ride (1/3 way to Olangapo). And then I took a jeepney to Olangapo. Generally the Philippines is a good place to hitchhike. But the part between Subic and Olangapo it's better to take a jeepney.
