Not good, traffic is not important but maybe it is because it was a Saturday. Imo it's better to go directly on the highway, traffic is not that fast and there is room to stop―cavalierrustique

I think here is not a bad spot but try to get a lift to at least Tver or a gas station far from Moscow where you can catch some truck doing long distance. Maybe it's even better to take a train that goes far away from the city to start HH, incredible amount of local traffic. I did the mistake to accept a ride from a actually good guy, Vladimir, but I lost almost 2-3 hours with him because I thought he was going to Saint Petersburg and he invited me, showed me around etc. He dropped me in a empty gas station where most of people again were locals.―cavalierrustique

From Moscow to St.Petersburg.Take bus 851 from Rechoy Vokzal metro station, leave it on Cherkizovo stop. The spot is behind the ramp, 5 min wa from the bus stop.
It has never taken me more that 15 min to lift.
