The main road towards Kirkines is more difficult than other places in Russia to hitch on. There is little civilian traffic and you will likely get picked up by military personnel at some point. There are also military checkpoints along the way, if you are a foreigner you will be asked for your documents and registration at these points so have them close to hand. Expect to be taken into their hut for some questions also. Have fun! :-D―Anonymous
