We thumbed at the petrol station and the Lidl exit, but seemed like everyone was local traffic. We decided to try the exit of the nearby IKEA instead, with a sign for Librilla, and most was still local traffic - but quite soon a local helped us out.―mossenmoons

From the exit of the petrol station, it was probably the third car that stopped - we got super lucky, they were going to Málaga and were happy to drop us off in Nerja.―mossenmoons

It was a bit confusing, since I wasn't sure which carparks were for longer stays, drop-offs, rentals, etc. Most seemed to be rentals. But I walked around with my partner and after about 20 minutes, the third car we showed out thumbs to gave us a ride to a service station in Murcia.―mossenmoons

Day before (Sunday) I came here at around 3 pm and nobody took me till next day but next day it took me only 2 hours to get a ride to a gas station on outskirts of Murcia. Unfortunately there is no space for tent nearby thanks to a big grass but you can just sleep on it without a tent in summer aldo you probably will end up getting bitten by a lot of mosquitoes like me―Anonymous

in the evening i had a chat with 2 bosnian truckers who invited me to eat with them. then one asked me where i'd sleep and he opened one of the cars on the trailor and offered me to sleep in there. in the morning i started looking for rides again and two catalans went out of their way to drop me on bp la paz. moltes gràcies―andrej

Take bus 44D from Murcia (instructions on Wiki). Going to the west should be fine, heading east better get on Santomera service station.―Anonymous

i actually got two rides to granada in 15 minutes :) many people go down there, just ask truckers and people who stop to eat/refuel. good spot and easily accessible. there's more 44d buses than just a few per day :) but beware because they don't operate on weekends―Sitko

Well, this stop can be good and bad in the same time, idk where is better to stay if in the gas station or in the roundabout ... I got a ride in the roundabout with a sing ( South direction ) and I got a ride to Almeria..Maybe better to ask directly to the drivers ( it's better to do this in Spain.

Not ideal but probably the best option to get out of the Alicante area north or south. Hitchhiking to here is easier than public transport imo―Ryan161
