Most spanish i talked to did not go to Zaragoza. After some time i got a ride with a german women who was going to the french pyrenees. I went with her to Zaragoza to continue to Barcelona. It was around 9 am. I would recommend this spot when going out of Madrid, since other Spots of hitchhiking out of Madrid didn‘t go well. It‘s a gas station + restaurant and there is fairly good traffic.―Pasch

You don't have to walk on the highway to reach it! just go through the industrial zone at the back. I got really lucky, the first car I asked went directly to Lleida (Catalunya)―Laura13

We didn´t know how to go out of the city. So we took a bus to Meco and went to gas station. And the place was almost empty! But we had lucky. Some girl took us after maybe 40mins. And it was in summer probably 3 pm.―Boruvka.d

I just got off the car that took me from Madrid and there was the other car that accepted taking me, not even one minute to take a ride to Zaragoza (gas station)―A.n.d.1818

Petrol station, Galp. It can be access from the highway Madrid to Zaragoza. It has few traffic, but Its best I found out of the city and that could be reach by public transport+on foot.To get here, take a cercanías (metropolitan train) from Atocha, in direction to Alcalá de Henares/Guadalajara. Jump off at Alcalá de Henares, from then take the bus 9 (frecuency:30minutes) and ask the driver to tell you to jump off before passing over the higway. From there, 10 minutes walking.
Otherwise, go on foot from Alcalá de Henares train station, is 30 minutes on foot.
The petrol station is in a industrial State, so better use it on weekdays, there will be more activity. Ask the drivers to drop you on the next petrol station, even if they dont go a lot further.

It's entrance no 55 to motorway. Good visibility, cars are driving quite slow. Unfortunately, we had been waiting there for about 1,5h and found nothing! Many drivers were hostile. We found a guy on a nearest petrol station and he gave us a lift to the another, better petrol station on the motorway, near Meco (between Guadalajara and Madrit).

We catch a transport in over 2 hours, sometimes trucks drive this way and this is the best way to get out from this town.―Anonymous
