Found a guy who took me to Lugang. Quite easy and good spot, road going straight to the highway 1, many cars and great visibility

Really random spot but every random place in Taiwan is very hitchhikeable, and this spot really isn’t great for place to spot, visibility and probability that a car goes where you’re going but the willingness of Taiwanese to help you is greater than anything you can imagine. Got picked up by a motorcycle

Good spot for going south, i got a ride to Taichung after 15 minutes. There is not really a lot of space for cars to pull over, but it's just before a traffic light so they will manage to stop for you :)―Anonymous

I didn’t make it easy for people to stop for me: my sign said Lugang (which was quite far from here and very precise), this road has quite a lot of traffic, and there were constructions happening, rendering it sometimes hard to hitchhike while there’s a truck backing in front of me. A lady on her motorcycle still managed to bring me more west, which greatly helped me. She offered to host me if I didn’t make it to Lugang tonight

A student picked me up and brought me there in a record time as I was pretty much in the city centre. Really great spot as this road leads you to the highway
