Great spot, barely waited. Had a sign with written « south on it ». You gotta talk with people to see where you wanna be dropped, I had to go to the absolute south of the island so some logistics as to where to be dropped was required

I don’t know if it was just a bad luck day but it took me forever (according to Taiwanese’s hitchhiking time) to finally get on the highway 1. It was a couple who passed me 20 minutes prior, felt bad so they decided to turn back and bring me to the first gas station on the highway

Hitchhiked there when it was dark and quite late but I still got picked up quite quickly and brought a bit more south on this road. From experience, if the Taiwanese people aren’t going to your exact spot they might not offer to take you further on the road, so make sure to assure that it’s gonna help you a lot
