Not much traffic off season. Mostly Turkish cars with 34 area code. Many trucks with 16.I needed to go to Sofia so i tried to go east with sign Bulgaria and west with Sign Thessaloniki. Sometimes both while standing in the middle and turning for cars/trucks.
Going to Turkey should be possible since i got offered rides by truck drivers.
The police were really chill only checked my Passport and told me they have to kick me out if someone reports me and chatted with me about traveling while doing their checks. The checkpoint and police presence probably made the drivers not stop for me.

I bet its a good spot during the season but for me it didnt really work out.There was a police control so i first climbed the fence and tried on the highway and on ramp but had no luck. Later the checkpoint was gone so i went opposite the hardware store( Inside is a free water fountain right at the entrance straight on).
Later an employee took me on his delivery run and i unloaded the loads with him to drive me to the toll after.

Asked a albanian truck driver if he could take me to turkey. First he refused, but after his break he came back and offered to drop me off in front of the border near Alexandroupoli. Didnt even need to jump the fence like another reviewer mentioned, theres a big hole nowadays.―KaeptnBub

My plan was to ask the Turkish truck drivers and if not successful move to the toll station. Asked the first Turkish truck driver and he dropped me at the border ! Tesekurler Fethi! He also share his meal with me.―cavalierrustique

In my opinion it's better spot then station cuz hare is more traffic, cars are slow after toll station and there is place to stop. Better to use sign.After an 1h Turkish truck driver took me to Turkish border.

it's a good spot, but there are times when traffic is really low. But cars go slow, you can easily ask drivers, there is trucks and a cafe - a pleasant spot―Mil lady

The spot between greece and turkey. It's a good place but you have to know it's not a possible to cross this border by walk. After being dropped by an imam on the border, I walked to the turkish office, let them make their stuff with my papers. Then I had to hitchhike at the border. The simpliest thing to do is to look for a truck. Many trucks there, but you'll have to wait for about one hour before crossing the river. At the end, I ended finding a car that was crossing greece to italy in less than 5 minutes at the greek office.―Anonymous

I waited 3 hours here and nothing. I walked to the next town, Peplos, nothing. The next day I walked to the intersection and waited another 3 hours and nothing. I walked north to a gas station, asked for a bus, then walked south and got a ride finally to Alexandroupoli. Hitchhiking in Greece is very difficult.―Anonymous

About 100 minutes by bus from the city but worth it! You can walk to the rest stop and through the toll station (Not recommended) or Jump the fence Right After the station (recommended). I used a sign with the greek and turkish spelling of Turkey.―joni161

Turkish registration plates beginning with 34 Go to Istanbul. Once you crossed the Bridge you can Go by foot through the immigration.―joni161

Stand behind the toll post so truck drovers coming through the post can see you and pick you up. You can cross the highway here so it’s easy to go in either direction.―Agentum
