In my opinion it's better spot then station cuz hare is more traffic, cars are slow after toll station and there is place to stop. Better to use sign.After an 1h Turkish truck driver took me to Turkish border.

I didn't know that we couldn't walk through the no man's land so I got out of Turkey and started walking. The Turkish soldiers stopped me (with a smile), told me I couldn't walk and took the initiative to find me a ride! ;)―Anne-laure

The spot between greece and turkey. It's a good place but you have to know it's not a possible to cross this border by walk. After being dropped by an imam on the border, I walked to the turkish office, let them make their stuff with my papers. Then I had to hitchhike at the border. The simpliest thing to do is to look for a truck. Many trucks there, but you'll have to wait for about one hour before crossing the river. At the end, I ended finding a car that was crossing greece to italy in less than 5 minutes at the greek office.―Anonymous

I waited 3 hours here and nothing. I walked to the next town, Peplos, nothing. The next day I walked to the intersection and waited another 3 hours and nothing. I walked north to a gas station, asked for a bus, then walked south and got a ride finally to Alexandroupoli. Hitchhiking in Greece is very difficult.―Anonymous

About 100 minutes by bus from the city but worth it! You can walk to the rest stop and through the toll station (Not recommended) or Jump the fence Right After the station (recommended). I used a sign with the greek and turkish spelling of Turkey.―joni161
