Perfect spot. There is a small bus station and a roundabout managed by traffic police. Just stand on the highway after the roundabout. They did not bother me. After 20min a Truck driver stopped (waved at him with sign) and offered to take me. Great spot! If you end up here at night, there are pleeeeeeeenty pf minivans to all directions, a supermarket, toilett. Everything you need.―GermanyToIndia

The spot is located beside a petrol station, but on the road. The road is wide at this point and there is a chance for the cars to stop. I hitched here during the winter and the staff of the petrol station gave a glass of hot tea for free in order to keep me warm.―Anonymous

Turn in for a truck stop. Traffic moving pretty fast, but stand at the start of the lay-by and they'll see you and stop. We got a ride to Hopa with a sign for Batumi after about 5 minutes.―Anonymous
