“Two guys hitchhiking to München. We got a lift to Regensburg (north of München). We were picked up after a while by a nice lady heading to Austria. We stood by the on-ramp to the autobahn. It’s not a perfect place for the drivers to pick you up, as they can easily block traffic, but if there’s a will there’s a way.”

“Got here in the evening at 6, had no luck for the rest of the day, so i slept in the woods ( lots of nice spots). In the morning it took 15 minutes to get a ride to Wurzberg. Good spot.”

“it’s a very good spot. Many card heading to the East and South. There are mostly German card but also Czech and Polish. Worth a shot. There are a few reataurants so people stay for a quite long time. Higly recommend!”

“Got a ride instantly at the Shell and asking the first person. Got a ride to Regensburgs. I got really lucky I think. Pretty normal place for hitchhikers, I met a few. Not much traffic though for a 6 pm on a Wednesday.”

“I took the train to weiskirchen and walked to this stop due to its great ratings. And it lived up to it. I was there on a Tuesday around midday and only asked maybe 6 people until I found a person with an Austrian plate (I tried to go to Vienna) and the person was heading to Nürnberg and dropped me off at a gas station before entering the city. There was quite a few people from the Netherlands who”

“Raststätte Aurach Süd (experience on a Friday night) EAST: the perfect place to hitchhike to Romania or the Czech Republic (about 2/3 going that way) SOUTH: Munich is also good (about 1/4 of all cars going that way) NORTH: not a good place (2 cars in 3 hours)”

“It is a really frequent and amazing spot. It was easy to find a ride towards Austria [direction Regensburg and Passau]. I got here by walking/hitchhiking from Fürth through Hüttendorf and Kriegenbrunn small villages, and in the end I crossed this magic forest, and then just walked into the resting area. Good luck!”
