What hitchhikers said along this route
“Direction Paris/Dijon. Walk from Perrache Station to Pont Kitchener. Traffic stops shortly at the traffic lights. Make eye contact with drivers. Finding a ride can take a while but is worth waiting for. Show sign "Limonest" which is only 5 km outside Lyon. Ask driver to put you off at the gas station near Parc Dardilly, which is a real good spot for finding a further ride.”

“No place to stop, If you find a brave/crazy driver it can work, but I advise rather the petrol stations. Direct verbal contact works the best!”

“there is an entrance from a parking lot to the big street going to the freeway. Cars can stop there without hindering the traffic too much. I was lucky and got picked up with some other guy within 15 minutes”

“No space for drivers to stop anymore without hindering the traffic”

“I was always lucky on this bridge”

“Pointless trying there, there is no where to stop, it's designed like this, you need to go further south in Lyon, near Oullin, or after where the 2 rivers meet!”

“i tried before and after the traffic lights, asked the drivers, smiled, during 2 hours... a girl passing by told me it usually works pretty easily for her.”

“Used a sign with "Villefranche" - clearer than "Péage" - and I got a ride to the Péage anyway. Not to much place to stop but really a lot of people passing”
― Noosk, 2013-08-05 · Lyon
“In May 2013 Insa and Jan hitched from this spot to direction Bordeaux. We weren’t taken to the Péage because the person wasn’t going there, but dropped off at a roundabout on the way which was also good.”

“There is not a place to curb, but drivers are all stopped when the light is red so I held my sign to the stopped drivers. One slowed and brought me to the peage at Villefranche.”
