Decent, not amazing. There is a bit of space to stop, but the Swiss drivers are extremely afraid of police. We got picked up by an unnecessarily dangerous maneuver.
A guy took us here because the other road to Switzerland had been blocked by a small landslide. It is a beautiful spot, you can even join onto a hiking trail from here. There was a toad migration, so watch your feet or you'll be massacring them. Someone took us to the valley immediately.
We had to spend the night here because no one goes past Eindhoven. When trying again in the morning, a guy approached us fairly early and offered us a ride all the way to Almere.
We got a ride quickly, but the guy went out of his way. There is a gas station not so far on the highway again, which can get you to Amsterdam. Otherwise, this is exclusively local traffic.
Useless spot. It feels nice. But no one stops. No one even goes here, in general, it is a wasteland. We got picked up after an hour by an insanely nice Basque couple, who took us all the way to Gaztelugatxe. But it should be mentioned that they found us on their way home, and did more than an hour of detour for us.
Very hard for people to stop, but we got picked up quickly nevertheless and taken quite far. People do not seem to understand where they are passing, so be prepared with the next spot to be dropped off at and check their navigation.
There is some space to stop for cars here, but we did not have any success and ended up walking further up the road. The traffic still seems to be unsure here.
We got a ride in the middle of the night here from Beja. It is well lit, and fairly calm. Several cars stopped, but we needed to make sure to go all the way. A kind man from Bangladesh ended up helping us out.
It is a good spot, plenty of space to stop. But it is a bit hard to communicate with the drivers here, maybe better to have a sign. Be picky, though, because you do want to make it at least to a gas station (not just to the toll booth).
A guy before us got a ride straight to Faro (Algarve), we got stuck on the toll booth shortly after.
I do not share the other experience here. There was a long queue of cars going to the beach, and those were the only ones stopping for us. Beach of Caparica, I hate you. We got taken after three hours by divine intervention. Avoid this spot at all costs.
We spent a long, long, long time waiting and saw a lot of road rage. A guy got out of his car to threaten a woman for some unknown reason. It was a hot day, and a taxi driver ridiculed us for hitchhiking. After three hours, a Colombian guy stopped and took us to a gas station on the high way. We are two girls and a guy.
The guys before us (with the dog) got picked up quite fast but it was a dangerous move by the driver, who stopped abruptly and even reversed in a lot of traffic. Cars going onto the highway are in the middle lane, and you can barely approach them. Not a single car stopped for us here.
Beautiful. It works perfectly to get out of the city, as there is a designated "covoiturage" (car pooling) spot right next to the bus stop. Couldn't believe it.
Definitely a good place. Belgian drivers seem to be very patient, we discussed for long times even with many cars queueing up. Unfortunately, we made the mistake of taking a car to Liège when we wanted to go to Amsterdam.
