We were warning to head north to Belén however no cars were going that direction so we got a ride to the road junction 20 minutes north. Many cars heading this way to the next town of Famatina. Once there we tried again―WillowTraveller

We were running out of water standing here by the bridge, only 6 cars per hour over the time of 11am - 1pm. Many cars either full of not responsive. A trucker from Famatina picked us up the whole route.―WillowTraveller

Long walk (40 mins) from the town of Villa Unión. Little amount of shade near roundabout. No cars passing, we were very lucky that someone stopped. They original drove past us and then turned around 2 minutes after. Probably guilty about leaving us. Most locals apparently heading across to Chilecito early in the morning―WillowTraveller

We gave up after most cars heading north on this road were just to small neighbourhoods, many people told us our trip up to Belén was too far. We tried again further up the road the next day. There way shade here and cars were going to a town called Famatina.―WillowTraveller
