I actually left a comment for the spot just north of here, but this is the location that I left from. I stood behind the road fences on the grass to avoid any encounters with the police. I stood with a sign that read 'Syd' and I was picked up within 10 minutes by a kayaker on his way to Wangaratta, which is where I was dropped.I left here on a wet Saturday morning at 09:00 after catching a train out to Cragieburn. If I hitch north again, I'll leave from here, and if I ever leave Melbourne by car, I'll be sure to pass this spot for future hitchhikers!
