Really luxury place for HH in the direction of Freistadt and the Czech Republic. It's located about 1 km after the contemporary (2009) end of the highway A7 towards the border with the Czech Rep.

If you take the train to Sankt Valentin, you can walk (it's not that close but it's ok) to the ramp of the highway. It's not very easy hitchhiking there because cars come from two directions (you cant address them both at the same time) and there isn't much place to stop. A lot of cars passed by, but I think it took 30 min before one stopped. I got a ride directly to St. Pölten (where I had to be).―Anonymous

Was standing behind the roundabout in the direction to Linz. Most people are local, so they won't probably to the long distance targets.―Anonymous

a local from linz took me heresaying that it was much better than Linz if I was heading Freistad. I didnt see a lot of traffic in my direction but I got a ride to Freistad after around one hour.Once in the car I realized that there were some road closed because of a car accident so it might be the reasons why the spot was so empty.
Theres a bus stop with buses going to to linz not far from here so you can always go back if it doesnt work.

A Croatian guy picked me up, offered me a spare room where I could sleep and the next morning he drove me to a big gas station.―Anonymous

Very difficult place to go south. Traffic is either local or towards Freistadt/CZ, with people reluctant to picking you up.I was standing for over 2 hours in the pouring rain, going back and forth to the gas stations and shops, and after being cold and soaked, a young woman finally took me all the way to Salzburg.
Not a lucky spot! Consider taking a ride that will get you at least to A1 if you wanna go south.

A lot of traffic, did take some time on a Saturday, but after a while, we found a lift to Passau. A lot of Austrian, Romanian and Hungarian cars.―Anonymous

Nice spot with a lot of space for a car to stop. At some point a police car stopped by and asked if I want to go with them to Vienna―Anonymous
