Not crowded, but somehow managed to find a ride super quickly because a friendly Austrian guy asked around for me while I was trying some other cars. The people who took me drove a Tesla and wanted to drop me off in Ljubljana but ended up driving me much further to the exact location I needed to be.

First person I asked drove me further, all the way to a parking lot close to Villach

Really easy to find a ride to Italy/Udine

The main bus stop at the exit of Mojstrana, easy peasy!
I met a French guy in my hostel, he had never hitched before, but we were going to Ljubljana on the same day, so we figured it could be fun if he tagged along! It was pouring down with rain, so we left our bags in the bus stop, and only darted out to stick our thumbs up when we saw headlights in the distance, before retreating back to the dry.
This worked wonders! Within 15 minutes we were in the car of Marco and his 90 year old mother, who loving gave us a lift to Jesenice, and offered us the first of a few umbrellas we’d be refusing that day.
Marcos mother didn’t speak any English, and my Slovene was sadly not good enough to understand her, but my suspicions were confirmed when upon us leaving the car, she proudly announced “BONNE VOYAGE!”

Undoubtedly a good spot to go to Austria or Ljubljana, as the first four cars that stopped were going to one of these.
The is the bus stop for Jesenice hospital, and surprisingly most of the cars that stopped were the ones coming from the hospital road, not the traffic lights.
Eventually, Danno gave me a lift to Mojstrana, dropping me right at the front door of my hostel, and giving me some wonderful hiking recommendations whilst I was there! (Notably, Slap Peričnik in the winter!!)

Great spot, I recommend to go a little bit further towards highway on the ramp. There is good space for cars to stop. I had a sign "A11 SLO" and literally first car stopped and took me to Radovljica.

It was raining and already dark so I just stayed on the station and ask drivers. One guy took me straight to Villach. I saw a lot of cars with SLO plates. In good weather and daylight probably it's better to stand on the exit from the parking, there is a lot of truck drivers who are taking a break on these parkings.

Not the most crowded reststation but we got a ride to Ljublijana in 10 minutes by asking around people in the gas station.

A bit of traffic there, people are a bit hesitant to pick up, but we went front of the entrance to the raststatte and got picked up 5 min after it, cause there was enough space for people to see us and stop

Most cars have no room because they are visiting their family in the balkans and people who go to Italy don’t take you. But if some one who drives to the balkans has space they are insanely kind.

Even if there is construction, the McDonald's is still open! The first truck driver I asked took me all the way to Wörthersee

Looong wait but I wanted to go past Villach and not to Italy so the cars who went my way were not that plentiful. Seems like half the cars drive to Graz direction and half to Villach.

Good place to go to Bovec.
People use this road to go to Bovec because it's better.

Cars go quite fast but spot you from afar and have enough space to slow down; its right next to a bus station :)
