I got lucky. The first car driving by took me and got me near Brussels. This spot looked promising, was large, and had slow cars for hitchhiking west. But maybe I was just lucky.

I got a ride directly to Oostende from here. There were a lot of cars here, and a guy took me almost immediately. This is a good spot if you need to change directions. I arrived late at night, slept in the truck cabin, and the next morning crossed a nearby bridge to the other side and headed toward Oostende.

A lot of cars coming through. There is a spot where all the cars have to pass through so i suggest standing there. Got a lift to Liege quick.

Very good spot, there is space to stop and the cars are going a reasonable speed. I did get stopped by the police while i was walking to the spot. In the end they did tell me it is okay to hitchhike there, so no problems.

Good spot, we just stood by the side of the road outside of the gas station. There was a traffic jam, so it was easier. Plenty of space for small cars to stop. We got ride in 5 minutes directly to Gent.

Fantastic spot to get to Belgium but be careful when walked from the Capellen station, there was a fence and closed gate. It was not an easy climb.

good, safe, visible spot by the bus stop, cars aren't very fast there. deinitely use a sign if you'd like to go past antwerpen, otherwise thumb should be just fine :)
